I got hooked on your words

They watered my soul

When I could not find them anymore

My bones ached

But instead of now blaming you

I need to water my own garden

I love this most of all becuz your message surprised me. From your title, I jumped to conclusions & I was happily shown a different way to consider such a concept. I love the way you weave together the idea of being writers & loving words . . . to the lesson of not relying on another (or others) to produce words for my satisfaction. Barrenness sounds a little too harsh ( as an addict) may I suggest 'desolation' (?)
That created a burden on a soul
that never should have been.

Thanks for the kind review :) Yes, barrenness is harsh, but that was my intention. Although modern methods are a lot more compassionate when dealing with addiction, I’ve found personally that a more severe approach is more successful to break negative patterns :) Softer approaches may work for some, though
