The purple pebbleA Poem by SleeplessVolcanoHigh
above the icy water line I
found a purple pebble just by chance I
reached below and tried to make it mine But
gone it was after a second glance. Could
that wave have stolen my bright find? Or
did the sunshine play a trick on me? I
wished the ocean would again be kind And shower
me with pebbles from the sea Glints
of color flashed over the beach My
purple beauty I could see again But
in a flash it wasn’t in my reach Have
I descended to a robber’s den? Behind
a boulder I could now see That
what I thought was rock had its own life Its
flight now gave my heart a remedy That
nature’s beauty can redeem my strife. © 2018 SleeplessVolcanoAuthor's Note
