Cookie-cutter love

Cookie-cutter love

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

I did not notice

How stealthily

Our cosy smiles

And rainswept embraces

Morphed into cookie-cutter love

Maybe

It was, your one-size-fits-all heart

Maybe

It was my windswept longing

For the out-of-the-box unknown

Or maybe

The climate around our hearts

Changed

For one day, in the cold

Loneliness

There was no rain,

And no wind

And I wept.

I like this, how after a while if they aren’t the one, you get bored. Where the spark you once had slowly dies away and you realize that they aren’t the final prize or end game. Very well written and breaking ip with someome/falling out of love can hurt, but sometimes you need to let them go. Good job!

One size fits all, oh no no. We are all different, unique and we need to be respected that way. You don't apportion blame, but I felt that your identity, your unique sensitivity had been eroded away. That's how your poem spoke to me. Nicely expressed.

Thanks Christine. Yes, we find our identity in our uniqueness, don't we......

Amazing use of words and thoughts. The words flowed like perfect song. You took the reader with you on a journey to learn proper place and then the sadness. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.
