Postcard from Fiji

Postcard from Fiji

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

You did not respond to my postcard from Fiji
I wrote you a poem in pristine beach sand
even the waves read it
but the tide reluctantly had to sweep over it
I drew pictures of our love
in a cave, hidden to all
but the mountain swallowed it
I wonder if my image remained etched
on the inside of your skull
I whispered longing words
right into the monsoon
hoping that they'd be swept over countless oceans
right to that very moment in time
where you are trying to forget me.

i like the poetic wish in the closing ... maybe a little tiny pay back mixed with big hurt, wishing and wanting ... especially enjoy the scene ..its all kind of a twilight ...secluded ...alone licking wounds ... especially like the cave and monsoon ... i feel the hurt ..so well done in my books!

Such an ardent wish I read here, of staying etched in the heart of a beloved forever. We never want to be forgotten. This poem is as human as it is beautiful.
