Twice bitten, thrice shy ~ Dodoitsu

Twice bitten, thrice shy ~ Dodoitsu

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

Twice, struck by lightning, I stand
Taunting bolts of love again
Hearing thunder, but alas -
Joltless, loveless, torn.

Thanks, Doodley, for introducing me to this delightful Japanese style. While a senryu has a 5-7-5 syllable count, this one has 7-7-7-5.

Right on point, Sleepless! True to the form.....(just lose the 'e' in lightning).

Will she be third time lucky? Perhaps she might. I am glad you enjoyed the form and thanks for the acknowledgement.

Job well done.

Tx Doodley - always fun to try something new....thank for the inspiration :)
Joltless, loveless, torn. liking the last line, nothing surprises you anymore, ended up with no one and love is divided.. simply confusing but still challenging. like this piece of writing.
