I saw in your eyesA Poem by SleeplessVolcano
I saw in your eyes
a passion for life, a zest for what's right so I held your gaze, or so I thought I saw in your eyes some shadows you did not want me to see I tried to look again but you looked away I saw in your eyes a hunger that I know too - the yearning to be known and not just wanted I saw in your eyes a future made of golden dreams and I wondered if my halfhearted hopes could appear on that stage I saw in your eyes a grace, a soft touch I looked, and looked again, and this time, you did not look away.
