The honeymoon ends the day after the wedding sometimes. This is too true for some and it really makes you wonder why certain couples ever bothered to marry. There is just no commitment or real connection... Words flowing and easy to read, I love this honest, but sad poem. Cheers!

It is sad indeed, my friend. Fortunately, I'm not writing this from experience, but many friends of mine are going through this, and I imagined what it might be like for them......I'm still old-school, believing that one marries for life, but nowadays people change spouses as often as cars, it seems. Rather ironic, if you ask me. We can build electric cars, and plan to fly to Mars but we cannot manage "until death do us part". But I will shut up now...:)

:) ....... i think it is actually that commitment..and the sticking to it...that teaches us what love really is ... the blast of the fire at the start is to temper the metal to be made not to be the "be all" eh!? ;) we do get tried tho ..that is to be sure...and i think there is a point we are most vulnerable the destroyer is ready to serve up something that looks mighty fine ... sadly i confess ..it is men that are the weaker ;( ... that "7 year itch" is a very real thing...i have seen it take apart families that are among my fine relatives and friends ... typically that thing left for is gone and done within months ..sadly it is only a rare thing that one can ever go back to repair and remain with the person left ... always a good discussion to have says i!

I actually regret that it is true.....because I'd like many of my friends who have gone through break-ups and divorces to patch things up, but as the saying goes, "It's complicated", which quite frankly, I don't buy. Where there is a will, there is a way, so I'd say to the "It's complicated" excuse, well, they just have not tried hard enough.
