Anchors Aweigh

Anchors Aweigh

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

Hidden in watery depths
the anchor hides
it's now the home
of starfish and sharks
but no one knows
the glory days are over
humbled by the weight of water
it waits
hoping, wishing -
even praying to Poseidon
to send a majestic vessel
to once again
yank its chain.

A wonderful story weaved. You gave life to the artwork. Lonely is the tool, that had no purpose. Thank you my friend for sharing the amazing poetry.

Even anchors dream of freedom and free of burden. What a lovely thought.
In the fourth line Is it supposed to be sea stars ( star fish ) ?
