The poet with Stockholm syndrome

The poet with Stockholm syndrome

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

A poem kidnapped me -
it held me prisoner
in a cabin
filled with first edition dictionaries
and other tools of torture
It looked like a sonnet
but sounded like a limerick
while it tried to make me talk
while reading sublime Shakespeare
and x-rated rap
but mum I remained
keeping my words to myself
until it opened the door
and said,

"Go"

but I decided to stay
allowing the torture
to write beautiful poems
on the silent walls
of my heart.
