Crimson yellow

Crimson yellow

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

words are simmering
the skillet is hot
good and bad steam
create a fusion
of the state of my mind -
this stateless wanderer
rejected by all soil

more salt
some wise words
will combat
the chunks of darkness
that does not want
to cook through

A pinch of chilli
I still have some zest left
saffron will match
the crimson yellow
of my bleeding heart

This piece has some phenomenal imagery. I could feel the skillet's warmth and could picture the metaphorical cooking throughout the entire poem. Loved it!

Thank you very much for your encouraging review.
i use to love combining yellow and red when coloring as a child ... brutally honest in this poem of cooking the self ;)
thank goodness for the chili and saffron zest to preserve something from the burn ;)
