The road of a fool

The road of a fool

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

I asked wisdom
the hard questions of life
she just sighed
and said
that I should wait.

My patience ran out.

Now I don't ask questions anymore -
too ashamed to admit
that I've forgotten
the sound
of wisdom's sweet voice.

Who can't relate to this, very well done! Wisdom is sometimes gained when we make mistakes, the key is to learn from them which is easier said than done. I definitely enjoyed reading your poem. Keep writing!

Thanks for reviewing Taino :)
Like Tom Petty once sang, "The waiting is the hardest part." I'm not altogether convinced that age brings knowledge however. I once had a theory that we were born knowing everything and then grew dull as we grew older. That's why children never speak before the age of two...they know everything and are trying to keep it all to themselves! But I have noticed how they smile sometimes. (laughing) I enjoyed this one.

to me, it seems wisdom always comes back to give you a big slap in the face, then retreats before you can blink past the tears. She will come back, at the exact moment you don't want her.

Your poetical ‘oxymoron’ write illustrates how wisdom can be gained from our foolishness – creatively sound piece (and the picture is excellent)!

Are you missing Athena...
lost her number ;P
u want me to pass on the message... ?

As a child when we ask too many questions our parents says keep quiet... guess we also tend to not answer many of our kids question...
mmm as we grow up our mind stops asking and saying yes to things to fit into the society...

your poem depicts that very nicely...
