The other side of paradise

The other side of paradise

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

The heat is on
Sweltering, suffocating
Sucking life out of my bones
The sun abducts my common sense
And I see grandiose ships
Crossing wavy sand dunes
And I wish
That someone would merely dip
A finger in a cool glass of water
And let it hover over my rigor mortis tongue
But it is not to be
The die has been cast
And I got the short hot stick
And now I'm married
To this steaming hell.

I really like the trip that this takes me on. Although like is probably the wrong word.Through the heat of those thoughts and images. I see a single growing thing in a deep desert. An excellent metaphor for conditions and dark thinking. And looking at those who don't see or can't understand the darkenss and the depression.
