Rain on me

Rain on me

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

From a distance
I've seen the way you look at me
And it's not like others -
there's a softness in your eyes.
Sometimes, as gentle as a morning cloud
but other times
a tornado is brewing
but then you close your eyes

I can see rain
waiting to burst forth
from the lights of your soul
but you are holding back

Let go
You can rain on me

Let me loosen the grip
of that dark hand on your soul
and your moist pools of blue
can freely nourish
my thirsty eyes.

I love the fact that you are describing a tornado and a storm, but it comes from the light of their soul. It gives an interesting piece of imagery to describe your character, like the softness. " / of that dark hand on your soul /" You describe someone in turmoil but yearns to be free, that has it in them to be free, if only they let loose once in a while. I like it, good style.
