Hold my hand, my son

Hold my hand, my son

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

Hold my hand, my son
No, you are not old enough
to cross the road on your own
Life is full of silly accidents -
no need to cause any more

Hold my hand, my son
some may say they'll give you a chance
but crash right into your soul
those are the ones you need to avoid
no need to plant seeds now
of more broken hearts

Hold my hand, my son
One day love will strangle you
like a snake around your neck
causing you to breathe heavily
and your heart will be a rabbit
caught in its grip
it's okay to yield to such a love
but you need to know that it's real
until then, my son
just hold my hand.
