The tree of loveA Poem by SleeplessVolcanoI am the tree of love My flowing tears Have carved crevices
in the brown bark of my soul Where you still grow Like moss, softening
my rugged heart.
I have asked orange
clouds To be ever-present And never allow Your kiss-deserving
beauty to get burned.
I have asked the earth To let your roots grow
with mine To conquer our blue
season - Absorbing passionate
depths, together, But it did not reply. I think it is scouting
for a new piece of land Where we can flourish
together.
If a bird whispers in
my ear That this could be
true Would you elope with
me, To that place where
the sky is green, And life could be you,
and me? © 2017 SleeplessVolcano |
