It's been a while

It's been a while

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

It's been a while
Since you've been mine
But not long enough for me
I'll take another truck load of time
To try ten more lives with you.

It's been a while
Since morning coffee
Woke us long before the sun
I know my omelettes
Look like stuffed pancakes
But you love me, just the same.

It's been a while
since we picnicked alone
How about we do it now?
Get the cheese, and olives,
And strawberries too -
I'll get that Chardonnay
You like
Smelling like vanilla pod and oak

It's been a while
Since we cuddled for a movie
Yes, okay, we can watch it again
And I know you'll fall asleep
But so will I
On our couch of love
Come rest your head on my arms
Just for a little while
My love.

This is a beautiful homage SV filled with precious sentiments that go to comprise the magic of 'knowing' someone else with such great depth of love.
I hope you both had a great day.
