Hope in those green eyes

Hope in those green eyes

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

I stumbled upon my dream job -

Investigative poetry

That one little string, attached to it,

With a thin, Persian carpet thread

Led me to a village of love

And loss

When I saw those sea green eyes

At the well

I knew it -

Love can be found

In the simple,

In the dust,

While sauntering words mingled

Through a cliff-top barbecue

The sunset echoed an email yet to be sent:

“Dear John

I found my story,

One which I cannot tell right now,

Because I’m still living it.”

SleeplessVolcano
I have been meditating on the reality that my son and daughter may one day have jobs which currently do not exist....and I had a daydream about being an "investigative poet" and resigning once finding a story worth not going home for :)
Picture is of Sharbat Gula, The Afghan refugee, pictured in a refugee camp in 1985, causing world-wide concern for the plight of refugees.

I love that the thread is one of hope and optimism. I think it's about time 'John' got off the hook from his terrible reputation in Dear Johns and I think you did that here SV.
So raise a glass to the 'Dear Tony'.

That's cool - all those extras hanging around waiting for a shot at the dreamy-big-time.
