Love in a grain of sand

Love in a grain of sand

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

You need to let me maintain my distance,
Or else I'll stumble over your shy smile,
All I am goes into this resistance -
My love for you is as long as the Nile.

Queen of the sun, you've been to my darkness -
My ruins of bad luck you've turned into joy
Rendezvous, at my castle, my countess,
One kiss  will read you the best of Tolstoy.

Come,  Cleopatra, give in to my voice,
Our love decreed from Olympus, like gold -
To nestle between your breasts is my choice,
Just promise, my heart, forever you'll hold.

Sun, moon and stars blushed when our lips did meet
Rescued, our iced hearts, through true lovers' heat.

Wonderful read, and the beautiful image certainly makes the imaginary travel with the lovely words of the poem.
A Big well done from me ;-)

A lovely write I immediately thought of Liz Taylor playing Cleopatra And Richard Burton playing Alexander on your chosen words and imagery. An old worldly write!

Thanks Andrew for your review. Nothing like a good trip down memory lane for a poem or two...:)
