A misty sunriseA Poem by SleeplessVolcanoI need to get away, I told the angry sea The sun, agreed, yesterday, But this morning, your kisses swam Through the first rebellious rays Coaxing me to stay Before I’m taken by the tides Of forgetfulness. My watery eyes remembered your smile And paused, for what felt like an hour, Kidnapped in a time-capsule, Until the cacophony of dissonant cymbals Woke me from my nostalgic stupor - The fog horn, like an angry sheep dog, Warning me, again, To get into the pen Because the wolf is near. So I turned my back on you And continued to row Into the stormy unknown Of my future peace of mind. © 2017 SleeplessVolcanoAuthor's Note
