Walking alone

Walking alone

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

I saw you walking alone

And I wanted to walk with you

But you questioned my heart

I was looking ahead

Of what might be

And all you could see

Is the here and the now

Blink your eyes

Yes, once more

Maybe you’ll see

That the language I speak

Are not anchors

But balloons

Seeking to lift your soul higher

Like you’ve done to mine.

There is a bittersweet longing that drifts through your words. How beautiful for one to desire to lift another so high, so endlessly, even in the distance.
