The price of wisdomA Poem by SleeplessVolcano
I met a cobblestone traveler
In the backstreets of Milan He told me of dangerous exploits In the kingdom of the Sun. Intrepid adventurer was he - Seeking mummies, goblets, and arks He even once, in Alexandria Unearthed, a fossilized shark He smiled and threw me a pebble - The one which took Goliath's head Pity, he sold the skull to a Sultan A trade for Cleopatra's golden bed. So what could I give this generous prince? No famous treasures my hand possessed - He read my thoughts and smiled with a grin: Your simple contentment will be your rest. © 2016 SleeplessVolcanoReviews
