Ode to an unborn blog

Ode to an unborn blog

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

I wonder what they'll seek
On the wide open spaces of my soul
I wonder where they're from
And whether I've ever tasted
The dust of backstreets roamed

Carlos from Quito send regards
Viola from Vladivostok also loves stars
Krystle from Canada shares my grief
Manny from Manilla, expresses relief
Oliver from Oxford fixes my verbs
Holly from The Hague, picked me up from the curb.

But the most prized visit is quite unexpected,
In so many circles he'd just be rejected.
But Thabo from Timbuktu walks each day,
Five miles or more, through the desert to say,
"Bless you my brother, may your harvest be big,
May today you discover, what makes you tick.
And if you love the voice of harsh desert sands
Your wisdom will grow, when you understand."

So no longer I seek those who think just like me,
I want to dip my heart in what others could be -
Soothing words of poetic expression,
Will continue to be, our mutual confession.
