I'm on my way

I'm on my way

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

Sorry that you had to wait -
with all the water
passing under our bridges
I thought it best
to wait until the river freezes.
Now I can walk over
the forgotten past,
solidly underneath my feet,
and hopefully, yours too.
I have been watching you,
carefully, from the other side -
you must have felt my eyes,
probing the presence,
or absence
of unyielding yearning.
I'm walking on ice,
but my feet are not cold anymore;
I am breathing in snowflakes,
but they merely stoke the fire
burning softly in my heart -
And hopefully, in yours too.

Oh I like this very much. Turning ice into passion and using it to fuel the flames. Very beautiful and hopeful. Excellent job.

They say revenge is a dish best served cold...perhaps love is sometimes best warmed on the back burner of contemplation and remembrance.

And she must have been wondering on the other side

What on earth are you waiting for ??

A beautiful piece

i almost felt a cold in my blood after reading this
wasn't sure if it was going to lead to the freezing of my heart in pain
or it became almost refreshing...
I thought it best- is a good line that makes this interestingly a positive
to walk on the waters of our past...
