this would be a senryu ..correct? .. i am constantly getting them mixed up ... love the subtle humor ... when i hit your third line the whole seen presents itself to me ... especially at this time of year ... the farmstead can be a dangerously quiet and lonesome place ... but what is better than taking down the old mug, filling it with favorite hot brew ... settle it down on that red/white checkered oil cloth ... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ... i will make it through the winter one more time :)

I get confused too.....but as explained to me by a much better poet than myself, a senryu involves h.. read moreI get confused too.....but as explained to me by a much better poet than myself, a senryu involves human emotions, whereas haikus are about inanimate objects......though in three lines, one can probably combine the two, right? I like the gray in life......lol.....waiter ask me now, do you want cream or ice-cream with the waffle, and she could not quite think outside the box enough to handle my spontaneous request, "both please!" :)
