Prayer for those dying today

Oh my God, just like me
They may be having a breakfast coffee right now
Without knowing that it is their last.
Just like me,
They may be juggling a dozen chores
With color-coded to do lists,
Silently praying foolishly
For more hours in the day,
Not knowing that the sand in their hourglass
Is nearly on empty.
Please send them an angel
To give them truth, before it is too late -
Maybe a loved one, who knows your name;
Maybe a random email, jam-packed with freedom;
Maybe the police officer on the scene of the accident:
Maybe the ambulance driver on the way to the hospital;
Maybe the surgeon after a four hour operation;
Maybe the janitor in ICU,
who could answer that dying question -
Whoever may be your instrument of life today,
Let them hurry.
Give them on-the-spot wisdom
To turn the tide of deception within seconds
Before the last drops of precious sand
Slips into an empty eternity.

The ending really hits you. This prayer is so deep and emotionally thought provoking. When we pray to the Lord we pray for anything we think someone needs. This prayer is something we've all prayed for in someone else's life or our own. Thank you for sharing this. It is a very beautiful and deep prayer
