A new song for a newborn heart

A new song for a newborn heart

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano
"

"My second McDonalds breakfast prayer before sunrise....:) "

"

The years flew by since that yearning prayer
When my heart needed a new song
To lift me out of my pit of directionless fear
This morning I seek your face once more
In the same spirit of that painful journey

I may have stumbled and scraped more
Than just my rebellious knees along the way
But you've patched up my vulnerable heart
So many times
But this time I am ready for a transplant -
Grant me a soft heart of flesh -
Pliable, like the blob of clay I am in your hands.
I promise to lay still in the proving oven
Of repetitive tribulation
Until your light can sufficiently be amplified
In the dark crevices of the vase you are turning me into.

Fill me up
Let me overflow
But not for me to hold -
Use what you fill me with
To overflow into those places of darkness
You saved me from

Given we land in the right hands
nothing is left there but sweet dreams
of this sculpture of life

souls do really meet ...... and pick each other up :)

Sometimes we underestimate the power of prayer and how He really helps us with our lives. "Fill me up, let me overflow, but not for me to hold." I like those lines... great write my friend :)
