"Oh the bliss of distraction"

A lingering laziness
Engulfs me lackadaisically
Like a lobotomising fog
Sucking all clear visuals
From my nondescript eyes.
Competing stalling principles
Vie for poll position -
"Just five more minutes" steals
Hours with scintillatingly worthless
Wikipedia crap,
Only to be pipped at the post by
"I really need to know this",
Concerning, ironically,
Whether China's new two-kid policy
Will positively or negatively influence
Climate change.
Really? That's the best
The world wide whimsy could come up with?
Oh well, at least the coffee I am drinking
Was harvested without any child labor.
Are you sure? You know these multi-nationals -
More PR than heart.
Better grow your own coffee then.
Google best coffee cultivar to grow in a desert.
Maybe I could clone a coffee plant
With the survival gene of a cactus.
Start writing that book.
1001 tips on how to conquer procrastination.

928 to go.
Put on that kettle
Test your mettle
Once gold is worth more than platinum again
It is not a matter of if, but when.

I prefer you not write about me and tell the world how lazy I really am. Great piece an I saw myself in my continuing adventure within my mind as I sort through the need to do against what I can put off until tomorrow and I expect some ot the needed things will slip out of my mind too.

With writers I am not sure that 3 AM means much. Many of us that write have strange hours sometimes. I also do my best or most with lack of sleep and depression. So when I have what so many call writers block, I have no pain and I expect just to happy to write.

And in the big picture, I think most have learned I am a professional procrastinator.

Thank you for your kind words.......this poem was not consciously written, but was 3am ramblings during a night that I did not sleep......I must have had one moment of clarity to be able to post it.....:)
