Like Father, like son

Like Father, like son

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

Oh Father
I have so much in my mind that is not of you
I have so much in my heart that is not truth
I have so much in my life bringing tears to your eyes
Give me hope
Let it be birthed deep inside my solemn soul
Give me grace to believe
That in this thorn and thistle desert landscape
That my life has become
You could still make roses bloom -
Even blue tulips.
I submit to your will for my life
No matter what it takes
I bend my knee today
And give you all I have
All I am
Even if it's only scraps of fish and bread
Let the power of your divine love
Touch the little I have
And turn it into an abundance
To feed multitudes -
Just like you did.

Deeply personal SV. Prayers are in general, well...general....all encompassing and lacking, I find, in the personal - like fast food or one size fits all. Perhaps that has contributed to the dwindling numbers in chapel on Sunday, who knows. This redresses such 'beige' prayer-stylings. Its very moving.

just read a prayer by Momzilla together with this one of yours sets my sights perfect to greet the day ..so much horror and thorns both inside and out ...turning in thoughtful, honest prayer is the only way to proceed .. thanks for sharing this Sleepless!
