On a curb of life

On a curb of life

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano
"

"Poem inspired by a traumatic event a friend shared with me today"

"

On a curb of snow and ice

I prayed that I would die

blood and tears mixed on my lips

I sought God in the skies

Embarrassed to the pit of my soul

my tomorrow looked bleaker still

barely strength to catch my breath

and salvage what’s left of my will

Words sharper than shards of glass

cut holes as big as moonlit craters

no more place here for any lovers -

it seems, I only have haters

Collecting the pieces of what I had

I looked life in the eye squarely

too much has happened to now give up

I will survive, even if barely.

Yes. That is true.
We mostly seek refuge in the skies cause God made them wide and vast as if He is telling us there will come a day when you'll find the large world smaller and can't handle your problems, so look up.
Thank you for sharing this Insightful piece.

heart felt ... empathetic .. can plug many situations into this write ... could be anyones son or daughter, friend or even foe ... we hurt one another with impunity these days .. especially teens on social media ... too easy to think we have anonymity ... vitriolic words spew and one thinks nothing of it ... your oem sits heavy enough to turn me to my small prayers for big things to happen for the better .. so well done says i!

yes ... i agree ... to go it alone many times brings more hurt ..buried but alive :(
Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising each time we fall. Life can bring us down but it cannot keep us there. There will always be someone loving and caring for everyone out there. Time will heal all wounds.

A good write :)
