Lunch at my placeA Poem by SleeplessVolcano"all in a day's work"a handful of Irish cheddar slices of French camembert a sliver of Dutch leiden laid out, like haphazard puzzle pieces on thin slices of lightly toasted Danish rye bread a ruby red Italian sundried tomato colors each slice the same passion red of your cheeks. drops of extra virgin olive oil softly soaking into hardened crusts slightly softened, and flavored, by my homemade Genovese pesto your hungry eyes watching my strong hands squeezing the delightful oily juices from the mortar and pestle twigs of fresh rosemary from my garden nearly completes the perfect lunch - just two more ingredients: two glasses of glistening Californian Zinfandel and the main ingredient: your mesmerising smile, and in one afternoon I took you around the world - starting, and finishing, in my own back garden.© 2015 SleeplessVolcanoReviews
