The bully within

The bully within

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano

Were you born in a cave?,

I asked my left-brain mind,
Regretting the direct question,
The moment I had the guts to ask it,
After it raided my right-brain heart,
Leaving the door wide open - exposed
To the world's darkness and fears.

It does not matter, he said
Ignoring the weaker me with disdain
When you are happy you are darker than the world,
And when you are dark, demons take notes,
So stop whining, shut up and sit in that corner
.

So that's where I've been,
Waiting for the winds of darkness
To blow and trigger the next roller-coaster
Of frantic emotions
In this square inch box in the corner of my bullied heart.
