A midnight prayer

I said a midnight prayer for you
When I walked on streets of gold
I asked a majestic angel to keep you safe
And he sent half a dozen more.

When I heard of your misfortune
My heart skipped a beat
But I felt at peace, knowing that you are safe
And that the forces surrounding you
Outnumber heartache and pain
By a thousand to one

Rest peacefully tonight my darling
I picked a bouquet of distant stars
And folded them into your hair
While your sleep soothes your aching muscles
I will walk on alien roads once more
Wishing strength for your tired legs
To walk with me, again.

The safest place to be, is in the middle of huddled prayers.. they say angles take strength from each of them. An endearing poem, written with a sincere heart and compassion. Your heart is an open book read clearly with each verse.

I am sure I am not the only one that wishes to have taken a peek of that bouquet of stars. :D :D

Thanks MS for your kind comments......I am not so sure about my heart being an open book though.....despite reading complicated texts from Plato to Pele (soccer players have wisdom too....hehe) interpreting the texts of my heart leave me often dumbfounded......oh well, if that stirs my poetry, then so be it.....:)
