Hopeless daydreamer

"dream away"

Opening his eyes in the morning makes no difference
Magnificent places, intriguing people, scintillating exchanges
Keep haunting the big screen of his mind
That reality seems tame
A crystal of salt, cascading down his breakfast eggs
Catapults him onto an Antarctic iceberg
Trying to escape the invasion of warm but deadly water
The snug embrace of arms he needs so much
Exports him into an Amazonian rainforest
Where a hungry tarantula squeezes the last drop of life
Out of her spell-bound mate
Like Greeks vote to express their misplaced disgust
With their broken lives
His heart writes a petition to his mind, wanting to vote too
And remove his unstable powers-that-be
Requesting NASA to send out an urgent message:
"Human specimen, fully functioning, available for abduction.
Will happily share DNA, body parts in exchange
For an out of body experience".
