A tough birth, a tough life

A tough birth, a tough life

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano
"

"true story"

"

The closest haircut in decades -
Like those in the army,
Revealed a birthmark at he back of my neck
Probably exactly at the spot
Where the nuchal cord
Twirled around my neck like a prey hungry anaconda
So many years ago.
But it did not kill me
It choked me, but I lived
It choked me, but I lived
It choked me, but I lived,
And tasted earth's bitter sweet breath soon thereafter.
Life has been like that,
Ever since.
