Taking stock of the day

Taking stock of the day

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano
"

"newly formed habit"

"

It's an half an hour before bedtime
And I deceive my cravings
With an oversized mug of decaf,
Smothered in pink and white marshmallows.
I ponder whether I treated everyone
The way I want to be treated;
I wonder if anyone suffered today
Because I did not pray for them;
I imagine seeing the half a dozen angels
Keeping me safe through dangerous corners.
A smile of satisfaction arrests
The worry on my face,
Knowing that tomorrow I may get another chance
To shine the wayward sunbeam of me
And pierce the dark world I call my life.

I love coffee. I can drink before sleep.
"Knowing that tomorrow I may get another chance
To shine the wayward sunbeam of me
And pierce the dark world I call my life. "
I liked the tone and the above lines. Good to retract past day and try to be better tomorrow. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
