Rest

Rest

A Poem by SleeplessVolcano
"

"Every fossil has its day"

"

Sedimentary fatigue
excavated by your words
Sucking sweet nectar,
like thirsty hummingbirds
Fossilised remains
of dormant dreams resurrected
Newfound claims, of my murky mind,
not yet prospected.

My stubborn heart resisted
your probing exploration
My granite spine refusing
to hear your inspiration
Though gradually you purified
my sour water table
Creating assays of sense,
now analysable.

I bet if I picked your brain I'd find an intelligent mind that is easily influenced by the drilling of the heart.
Your use of language is very effective SV. Very good.

Always a pleasure SV. Sporadic insanity... I like that. Keeps life fun and interesting.
I have a sudden urge to grab my hat, pick and back pack for a trip to hills. But, then I remember, some things should be left to rest a while longer. This is s brilliant piece, Sleepless!

I feel we are experiencing a true archaeological Renaissance here. Loved the Peter-formation of the metaphors.
Some fossils maybe should be left buried.
Great write :)
