My Heart 370

My Heart 370

A tribute to loved ones lost in Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 - it is now one year ago

My heart 370

Under debris drowned in unknown oceans,
Pieces of me went down that day.
I shy away from thinking of how you died -
Whether it was instant,
Or in icy waters,
I do not know.
But what I do know,
Was that you thought of me
In those last explosive seconds.
Each time I see your eyes
Reflecting back in these questioning young eyes -
Also missing you -
I smile, remembering your fire,
But I cry too,
Seeing the pain
Remain,
In the next generation.
Pieces of our sparkling eyes
Have an icy grave
Somewhere
In the depths of our
Eternal
Love.

SleeplessVolcano
I did not lose a loved one in this tragedy, but I wrote this for all those who did........I cannot imagine how to express such a loss, and no words can express the loss that family and friends experience, to this day.

Wow, it has been one year already?? What a tragic incident that was, and how many families and hearts did it leave broken. Your poem is a poignant and heartfelt tribute to all these lives that were lost at sea without a second chance. The imagery of the ice, and the icy grave - are precise and bring an overall gloom and sadness.
