Beauty may manifest in the strangest of corners

Take a break
Leave the iPad in the car
have a cup of coffee
Without world wide weirdness
Capture thoughts
On a notepad with a pen
Not just any thought rummaging
Through your mind's surface level corn fields.
No, take the lift down the mine shaft
Of your abandoned mind
Seek out those thoughts never seeing
The light of day.
Let them surface
Give them a voice
Let dormancy speak
And these thought stitches
Of fear, worry, and hidden tears,
Will birth a tapestry of
Strange magnificence
The moment you stop to pretend
That the man in the mirror
Is not your friend.

I admire your desire for depth and self perception. Most people avoid thinking afraid of what they might see, afraid to face the beast inside. But you just dive in, head on. Not even wondering whether or not you'll be able to get out of the woods. I get inspired seeing the possibility of discovering something beautiful even when I might feel hopeless.

Thank you for your words of understanding.... :).....in the woods of my mind where I have been lost for decades, I sporadically stumble upon a treasure.....and like the fairy tale, I try to mark its location with a ribbon, or a splatter of paint.......only to find ribbons all over, and paint on the celing and everywhere, when I try to return to that spot.......yes, you are right, it is a tough thing to willfully venture into those woods......but for me, it is tougher not to.....:)

Maybe.....the problem is, even when i get lost, or take a wrong turn, or stumble and fall, and shed some blood, I manage to find some interesting angle on a tough experience......I cannot necessarily vouch that others would be able to have such a positive view of my "off-the-charts" impulsivity....:)

Thanks Warren......I lose both ways.....the scarecrows in my corn fields are not keeping the birds away, and I get lost when I go down under....oh the bliss and hell of being a poet! :)
