My Own...A Poem by Sleeping CrowA poem about romance for those who have yet to find it...Love...a word commonly used to express overjoyed gratitude towards something, or someone. An emotion that allows us to feel extreme happiness at a moments notice. A word that I cannot live to personally. I talk of love, but I've yet to feel it's tenderness in my heart. It's warm embrace in my soul. Is it because I am alone in this world? Or is it because I've yet to find the one who searches for me coincidentally? What can I do to find the love that I speak of? A question, such as this, that drives me to find the one that I can call my "one and only," my "soul mate..." my "one true love." It pains me to know that I have yet to find her wandering around this hellish nightmare we call a world. Each and every turn I make, every action I take, I cannot help but to think of what she might be conducting at this hour in time. Is she thinking of me the same way I think of her? I s she sitting in her chair wondering about when we will meet? Will I ever get the chance to find her by coincidence? Or will our search for one another cause the inevitable? I fear that I will always be alone in this world. Never to know the joys of love. Never to know what it must be like to hold someone close to my heart as it beats vigorously. Never to know what it feels like to fall in love. It's moments like these that cause me to feel neglected and hated by the world that casts it's nightmarish shadow upon us. Moments where I feel abandoned and hopeless. I may have others I can call friends, but what good is having friends if they have someone to spend time with? Someone they can take a chance with? Someone they might fall in love with? The only thing I ask for...is nothing more than for a chance to fall in love...to find someone I can call..."my own." © 2014 Sleeping CrowAuthor's Note
