All That Is All That WasA Poem by SlaynoirA perception is simply a reflection of shadows...All that is all that was Never quite seeing but never quite having All I ever wanted was a time to live Never once did I wish to utter your name Yet here you are in front of my dreams All that is, all that was You forever lost me When you lost yourself Never quite hearing yet never quite touching Our hearts separated by walls of glass You lost yourself And dragged me down Never wishing harm You inflicted it upon me I still see your scars But as a reflection as me All that is all that was You never quite tasted me yet you always smelled of regret You're a blind old man I am a crying young lady Our hearts separated by walls of glass Never seeing our true selves Always seeing what never is true In either me or you We will always see another Yet our future will one day be clear Until then I say to you All that is all that was Come back to me and be forever by my side Least I never see you again in time
