Lost in Myself

Lost in Myself

A Poem by The Wordsmith

As I fall apart I feel the hesitant heartbeat within my chest
It is fragile and yet works its best
I should learn from the heart that I hold
I contain strength untold
No matter frail it has been or the pain it has seen
It continues to beat within me
I falter when I think this
Thoughts of joy and happiness seem so amiss
I grasp tightly for they soon will fall into my abyss
It reaches far and wide
Pushing all other things aside
I can only run
Never hide
Desperately holding my love inside
Wishing I could be free from this eternal night
