Why Should I Believe?A Poem by SkyxRose
I have heard your words
But they fall unto deaf ears How do you preach about God Being holy and righteous Our supposed Savior, liberator, emancipator But I ask you this Why? Why do we preach What we cannot see Why do we preach What we cannot hear Why do we preach What we cannot touch Now, don’t mistake this for hate I do not judge what you believe in So, then why should you? If your God says, ‘Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself’ Why in the world would you Resent those who don’t worship Your beliefs? Your faith? Don’t berate me. It won’t help. If you want to recruit me Damming me to hell, surely won’t help Because I choose not to believe in What you so desperately preach Say what you wish But I stand for what I believe in I don’t need to explain why I don’t believe in God Just as you don’t have to elucidate On why you believe in God And God did not grant you your life So you could belittle people Into your religion God granted you with time So why spend your time on me? A stubborn girl whose ideals
Won’t change unless you prove them Call me blinded and unsighted But I refuse to believe That I have to worship Something man made To have peace in my soul Once I die © 2013 SkyxRose |
