The Journey

The Journey

A Poem by Seeker
"

a short poem of where life takes us

"

We can barely breathe

Air pushes against our lungs

Hot in our breaths

Warm against cold skin.

A wonder.

And we keep walking, walking, walking.

Trodding, trodding, we tread

Unto treacherous seas of doubt, longing and shame.

Courage leaves us.

Jealousy follows us.

Misunderstanding surrounds us.

But we trod, we trod, we trod

With the hope that eventually we do reach the light.

One of my happier pieces. (I notice they are few and far in between)

I found this on my computer, written some time ago. I was pretty pleased with it in reading it for the 'first' time, and I wanted to share. :)

I'm there.
Oy yay ya!
But thank you for doing such an eloquent job of describing the journey.
In my vision quest I have worn out 27 pairs of shoes....ummm...I mean moccasins.

"Misunderstanding surrounds us. But we trod, we trod, we trod."
What an excellent line. The ending line is also great, showing hope through all the hardship. Very well written.

I know I commented on one of your other poems, but you're actually an excellent writer. What really impressed me was the line "Courage leaves us; Jealousy follows us." How creative! Again, loved it.
