Chapter 21 of "Forbidden Love."

"

He loves me.

I couldn’t help myself, I couldn’t hold back. I threw my arms around Quil’s neck and kissed him. He didn’t pull away like I thought he would. He didn’t even hesitate as I felt his strong arms scoop me up into his lap. I opened my lips letting the taste of him set my body on FIRE. My heart felt like it wanted to leap out of my chest and into his hands. Everything inside me was buzzing and I just wanted more and more of Quil.

I felt his hands rest on my hips and because my shirt had been pushed up his fingers brush the exposed skin making me shiver.

When we broke apart we knew it was only because we needed to breathe otherwise we would’ve stay like that forever.

“I’m sorry.” I said dropping my arms. He only laughed.

“Don’t be.” He said wrapping his arms around my waist.

“Um…Quil?”

“Yes?”

“Do you think you could…?” I pointed to the collar.

“Oh!” he reached in his pocket and pulled out the remote. I flinched ready to get zapped but Quil just smashed the thing on the ground and the collar fell away. The side of my neck was badly burned from hours of abuse but it quickly healed.

“Does it hurt?” he asked and I shook but my head no but that didn’t stop him as he kissed my neck. I smiled as I felt his lips linger there on my skin. I tried not to show disappointment when he pulled away. He ripped the shackle clamped down around my ankle in half and I was so grateful to be able to move freely.

“We have to go the council will grow suspicious when Seth,” he said referring to the dead hunter, “doesn’t report back.”

“Where do we go?” I asked.

“We’ll have to leave Pennsylvania and go somewhere far away, just the two of us and hide until we can think of a better plan.”

“You mean it’ll just be me and you?” I asked smiling.

“Yes, just you and me. Is that okay?”

“It’s perfect!” I blushed over how enthusiastic I sounded.

“Okay but we need to figure out where to go,” he pondered.

“I got it!” I exclaimed.

“Got what?”

“I know where we can go!”

“Well don’t hold me in suspense, tell me!”

“Okay well I bought this cabin up in Aspen. I use to go there in hiding but I haven’t been there in years.”

“Do you still know where it is?”

“Yeah the area is isolated by trees and it’s almost impossible to find unless you’re REALLY looking for it.”

“Does anyone else know where it is?”

“The only person who knew was…Marik but he’s dead now so…” my voice trailed off as I thought about Marik.

“I’m sorry.” Quil said.

“You were just doing your job.”

Desperately trying to relieve the tension that had settled over us I said,

“The trees surrounding the cabin minimize the sunlight I’ll be exposed to.”

“Alright but it’ll take us sometime to get to Aspen without flying and we’ll have to take pit stops along the way,” he said.

“Alright but we’ll need supplies to stock up on supplies, cash, clothes, food and we’ll need to ditch cars every so often so we can’t be tacked down.”

“Okay cash I can handle why don’t you go home and pack. I’ll find a car and come pick you up.”

“No problem.” I stood up and ran out. To him I vanished.

I reached home in a matter of seconds. Immediately I burst into my apartment and retrieved the already packed duffle bag from my closet. Inside it contained money, two weeks’ worth of clothes equipped for any kind of weather, my toiletries, passport with which I was none as Sarah R. White, and a fake ID to match.

Running to my refrigerator I stocked up on blood bags. I jumped in and out of the shower dressing in long black pants a white tank tope covered by a leather jacket and high heel boots.

I armed myself, strapping my army knife to my thigh and my gun to my other leg. I snapped the clip that could hold 50 bullets of regular, silver, and wooden bullets on my pants and covered it with my shirt. I knew it was pointless but I still strapped my sheath around my waist feeling empty without my beautiful sword. Just for good measure I threw every last wooden and silver stakes, knives, bullets, and hidden stake launcher that I could easily hide under my sleeve in my bag.

I heard a horn honk outside. I ran to my window and saw an old black mustang sitting outside. Classic! Especially considering I was alive when those things FIRST came out in 1964.

I ran downstairs and out the door. Quil rolled down the window and smiled.

“I figured we could ride in style,” he said as I approached the car. Quil rolled down the window and smiled.

“Don’t get to attached it.” I said jumping in. He pulled away from the curb still smiling.

“Oh I have a surprise for you,” he said happily.

          “Really?!”

“Yep, look in the back.” I did and saw my sword, lying in its sheath, the blade wrapped tightly in red velvet. I reached for it feeling whole again as it rested back against my hip.

          “Thank you.” I said.

“Don’t mention it.” We were two fugitives on the run, now running for our lives. But together we would make it. Somehow…we would survive.
