Chapter 15

Chapter 15 of "Forbidden Love."

 

“QUIL HELP!!!!!!” Why? Why was I calling for him? He was probably watching it all happen, smiling. The only sorrow he felt was probably because he wasn’t the one doing this to me. But I didn’t care. The pain in my leg was unbearable and I just wanted it to stop.

“And now…” grinned the hunter. He pulled out a flask and dumped the contents all over me. My flesh burned as if on fire. Sage! I felt my skin fry under my clothes. I let out a blood curdling scream that turned into sobs. I looked up at the camera pointed at me.

“QUIL!!!!!!!! PLEASE! MAKE IT STOP!!!!!!”

The metal door burst open as something black charged in with supernatural speed and crashed into the executioner. A black wolf stood over his body, ears pressed against its head snarling.

“QUIL WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!?!” he screamed. That things Quil’s true form?

“GET.OFF!!!!” the hunter pushed Quil off as his body began to tremble. His back hunched and he…growled. Rusty brown fur ran over his body and his hands turned into paws. He was shifting! He let out a scream before his transformation was complete. The two animals squared off. The brown wolf was a lot smaller than Quil but it didn’t seem to care. They both stared at each other ready to kill. Quil charged and the two forms collided in a mix of snapping teeth and claws. Both aimed for each other’s jugular. The smaller one jumped on Quil’s back trying to bite his neck but Quil threw him against the wall. It gave out a yelp as its skull smashed against the wall. The animal fell to the ground whimpering. Quil stalked his prey, crouching low against the floor before he sprang at him. This time Quil clamped down on the side of the wolf’s throat. It yelped and then went limp. Quil backed off and the wolf shifted back to a human. He made choking sounds as blood gushed from his neck. He looked at Quil with bewilderment in his eyes.

“T…t….traitor….” he let out his last breath before his body finally stopped twitching. His gray wolf like eyes were still, lifeless. The wolf’s blue eyes fell upon me filled with sadness for what he had just done.

“Why?” I asked the creature but I knew I wouldn’t get an answer. It dropped to the floor and began to tremble. The wolf howled before shaking off its fur and taking the form of a human. Quil curled up on his side facing me naked. He was sweaty and breathing hard.

“Why?” I asked him again, “why did you do it?”

“I…I don’t know,” he confessed, “I just...couldn’t let you die.”

“I-” pain shot through my body making me cry out.

“SPARROW!” Quill sat up and came by my side.

“My…” I gripped my leg and gritted my teeth.

“Okay this is gonna hurt, are you ready?” I nodded. He gripped my calf but the slightest touch made me scream in agony.

“What can I do?!” he sounded so helpless. I looked in the corner and saw an old blood bag. I tried pointing to it as best I could.

“B…blood.”

“Okay hold on!” he ran out and came back wearing cargo shorts but no shirt, “Sparrow we have to get you out of here.”

“No…..c…can’t…move.” I croaked. I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer. I gave in…into the darkness, into the nothingness. I let myself slip into the void.
