Chapter 7 of "Forever My Love."

“JAMIE WAKE UP!!” I rolled over on my side, and then realized something was wrong. I didn’t fall off the couch. I opened one eye and peered around. I was back in my room. Lifting my head off my pillow I was still rubbing sleep out of my eyes. I swung my legs over the side of my bed and made my way to the bathroom across the hall. I looked into the mirror at myself and almost burst out laughing. My hair-as Zach would’ve nicely put it-looked like a demented birds nest! Ripping my brush through my hair wasn’t an easy task. But after 5 minutes of complete agony I could run it through my hair without bringing tears to my eyes.

It seemed I hadn’t been to school in FOREVER so it took me a minute to realize I couldn’t wear whatever. Finally I decided on my AERO shirt with a pair of jeans that were ripped at the left knee. And of course my favorite neon green high tops. I walked down stairs expecting for the doorbell to ring and to hear that my other half was gone. But this wasn’t October 12^th…Zach was already dead.

“Morning,” said my mom as I walked into the kitchen. I said nothing, “Uh I made breakfast.”

“Not hungry.” I said with little to no emotion in my voice.

“Jamie,” my mom stepped in front of me blocking me from the back door, “we need to talk.”

“No we don’t.” I argued.

“YES WE DO.”

“Fine you wanna talk,” I slammed my keys on the granite counter top hard, “TALK.” Normally I backed down from my mom. But not this time. I was ready for an all out WAR. But she wasn’t. She just stood there stuttering. I snorted, said “I’m late” grabbed my stuff and stormed out. So far my day wasn’t starting off good. And it would only get worse from there.
