Chapter 15 in "Silent

I hate Wednesday.

Even though we had the exact number of classes as any other day Wednesdays always seemed to be the longest day and the week (that and Tuesday.) Probably because we had last lunch. For once instead of going straight to the girl’s bathroom I actually spent the 5-10 minutes in homeroom. Everyone was talking about the latest scandal, how some girl Madison liked every single thing that moved, male or female. I felt bad, but not bad enough to help. I took out Maximum Ride and was sucked into the drama of Fang, Nudge, The Gasman, Iggy, Max, and Angel. The announcements were read but I hardly paid attention to any of them, I’d heard them so many times I could repeat them in my sleep.

Bus 7 to 6, 21 to 24 and valley view to 13.

Mrs. Martin fought with the class trying to keep them quiet but to no prevail I just waited for the bell to ring and walked into Advisory, still with my nose in the book.

“Psst!” hissed Janet from across the aisle holding a note in one hands. I looked to the front and saw Mrs. Fosters typing away on her laptop with buds in her ears. I mouthed the words toss it and pointed to the floor. She threw it to the ground and I quickly stomped my foot on it before anyone could see it. I slowly unfolded it making sure not to rustle the papers too much. Smoothing out the paper over my work I read Janet’s messy curved writing

Loved how you finally put Scottie in his place. He deserved it.

I smiled. It felt good to put that b*****d in his place. Images of Scottie falling backwards out cold into Blake made my smile grow larger. I simply wrote back

I should’ve saved that punch for the s**t.

Janet knew who I was talking about. Her face went blank the only sign of emotion was all in her eyes, anger.

What did that little w***e do to you? Can I kill her?

Hmm…well…

I pushed the idea out of my head and rolled my eyes at her.

She just said she would make my life a living hell like she already doesn’t do that. It didn’t really bother me too much I have bigger things to worry about.

And Janet said:

Is one of those “things” named Travis Richards?

I froze.

Should I lie? If I did Janet would know it, even through a note. But if I did tell her she’d never let me live it down. So I decided not to answer. Screw this. I dropped my binder to the floor and once again pulled out “Maximum Ride.”

 “Psst!” I turned just in time to see Janet throw the note towards my desk.

Sorry didn’t know you were SOOO sensitive about your boyfriend.

I shot Janet a look that could cut through steel. Janet held her hands up in surrender. I scribbled down angrily on the page,

He’s NOT my boyfriend!!!

But you want him to be right???

She smiled deviously as if she had something on me. But she didn’t, right? Of course not! Travis and I were just friends and that’s all we’d ever be,

 

Right?

OK this is DEFINITLY school. Madison DOES like EVERYTHING that moves (male or Female), you and Janette use to pass notes. now u and me do. also the bus thing is SOOOOOOO TURE! i HATE going on 4 but i live with it. for us its '7 to 6, 24 to 4 and valley view to 13.'
