Sadly all good things must come to an end. I climbed out of the tub and wrapped the towel around my body. I reached back into the water and popped out the cork that blocked the drain. I watched sadly as the water slowly receded. But I got what I needed, for my neck no longer felt sore. I quickly patted my body dry and slipped into my clothing. Everything felt tight against my skin but I would have to deal with it for a while. I grabbed a brush and ran it through my wet black silky hair. I realized that I would not have time to straighten it. So I put it up in a low pony tail with my elastic. I cleaned up my mess threw everything in the hamper and ran downstairs. My mom was cooking away feverishly. She always had a tendency to make very large meals for such a small group of people. "Oh! Good morning Paige!" said my mother motioning me with her hand to sit. So I sat at the round wooden dinning table. My mom practically danced her way over to where I was sitting and placed a plate of hot yummy Blueberry pancakes. I wanted to woof them all down at once, but I paced myself. My mother continued on cooking while I slowly ate. We (or she) didn't speak for a while. We both just sat/stood in complete silence. Then I heard feet running down the stairs. "Mom wheres my Math book?" Hailey. My best friend/sister. She was the one who saved me from that night. And yet I refused to speak to even her. "Um...did you check down in the office?" Suggested mom. "Oh Ya! Thanks mom!" said Hailey. And with that Hailey turned the corner opened the door leading to the basement/office and flew downstairs. Moments later she came back up, Math book in her hand. "Morning Paige!" Said Hailey enthusiastically. I didn't answer. As usual Hailey acted like I had. "We have to leave soon so finish eating or we'll be late!" Hailey rarely ate, something with a new diet. Which I thought for her was completelypointless. Hailey had to be the most perfect girl in the whole world when it came to looks. She had long thick brown hair that reached down to the middle of her back. Her brown eyes were always full of joy and life. She had the perfect hour glass figure any girl could ever have. Her skin was just the perfect mixture of white and cocoa. She was almost teddy bear brown. Not pale skinned, but not Jamaican colored either. Plus she did have amazing style. No wonder she was pretty popular. Only she wasn't a stuck up blonde wannabe who couldn't add two plus two if it meant her life! She was smart, kind, and super generous. I ate the rest of my pancakes and grabbed my bag. "Bye girls!" My mom kissed us both on the head and me and Hailey headed out the door to wait for the bus. That night was the darkest night of my life. For even the heavens weeped The darkest night, the darkest hour. When my dreams were shattered. And torn to bits. The night, where everything was gone...
