a kiss

a kiss

A Poem by Skyler Quinn Wolf Laws

It wasn't grand,
There weren't fireworks,
or wind blowing us around
or doves flying above.
It was simple.
Her lips on mine,
soft and still
And I knew,
Right then and there
That this is right,
This is home,
This is what I want.
And she is it.

This is a brief, clear description of a simple act, but it describes a profound inner experience. Thus does it inform us that we don't need "fireworks" to tell us when an occurrence is important; something within us will do that. Well done.
