I will always be thereA Poem by Skyler KelleyAn old man’s last words to his dying wife...
I love all of you and me,
We’ll be on the side with God, He Himself knows we’re meant to be. To see your smile one last time crystallizes my heart, The blood within it, To the end from the start. A serene, senile touch on my arm says many words, A weak, frail frown on your face, But a spirit with colorful birds. No! Don’t cry, Honey, I will be there, From heart to heart, From the everlasting love we share. Don’t cry at your end, Honey, Remember our last day, After all, Our pure hearts are meant to shatter one day, You’re my everything, the essence of living, You’ve never given me despair, Goodbye, love, remember, I will always be there. © 2018 Skyler KelleyAuthor's Note
